While Abby had some down time at the barn, David and I drove a circular route through the rather barren dales and stopped for a 1/2 pint at the Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in England at 1700+ ft - and really out in the middle of nowhere! This area reminds us a little of parts of eastern Washington, except that it is more green (and there are sheep!)
