Today we left Banchory, to drive through the Cairngorms National Park, on to the West Coast, passing through many beautiful Scottish glens. Early on our way we passed the sign for Balmoral Castle and decided to stop and visit - since the Gardens and Ballroom are open (just for another week or so). This is the Royal Family's Scottish residence and it is likely some of them will be up here in August/September.
