The historic and scenic Carlisle to Settle Railway has been running continuously since almost closing 25 years ago, and on this rainy Sunday we decided to hop on board and ride 45 minutes from our local village of Kirkby Stephen to the town of Settle. It was late in the day (Sunday is quiet in these towns) so nothing was open when we reached the town, but it wasn't raining at that point so we window shopped before discovering a small cafe where we stopped for a cup of tea.
