I'm Brenda and this summer 2011 David and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary with a trip to Norway, to visit Mari's family, and Britain, because we've always wanted to travel around that island! Abby is joining us and will leave us in Banchory where she'll stay for two more weeks. Come along for my travelogue!

Tue, July 12: Anne Hathaway's cottage in Stratford-Upon-Avon
Anne Hathaway was Shakespeare's wife and this is her childhood home, where she lived until she married William at the age of 26, sometime in the early 1500s (i think!). No photos are allowed inside, but here are a few outside. The house was much smaller when she lived there and the lower rooms have stone floors, and wood beamed ceilings that are very low. David of course had to 'watch his head' - a common comment for him in many places we have been so far! Were they all so short back then or just couldn't afford to build higher rooms?!
