James Herriot House

This is the actual house, located in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, where the veterinary practice was and where Alf Wight lived, first with his Donald Sinclair, the practice owner, then after with his family for many years. The telephone is where the calls came from farmers for help with the lambing or a lame horse and the dining room where he took meals with his partners! The car, though, was used in the filming of the show and there's me, giving it a try!
